is a Paris-based sound and digital artist. Specializing in computer-assisted musical composition and interactive installations, he is a founding member of Compagnie Faim de Siècle (New York-Paris) and he is also the founder of UsSHi (Un Sourire sans Hâte Infini), an association dedicated to research and experimentation in digital arts forms. Main musical compositions and interactive installations have been specifically for the Compaginie Faim de Siècle's multi-media performances directed by Ibrahim Quraishi such as Abandoned Shores, Landscapes, Médée Matériau, White Box, Coma, and Human Landscapes. Walid's other personal work is mainly concentrated on gestural interactivity linking multiple artistic forms based on digital techniques. Quatre, Trop de Réponses, Humanhood, and A la Mesure du Silence (a performance for hard of hearing and deaf audience) are experimental performances that have been specifically created within this perspective. All performances and installations have been shown internationally in Africa, Europe, USA and Canada, including venues such as The Kitchen (New York), Le Lieu Unique (Nantes), Festival International d'Arts Multimédia Urbains, Théâtre Granit, National Theatre of Belfort (France), La Caserne, Espace Robert Lepage (Quebec City), MESS International Festival Sarajevo, Muffathalle Munich, 12th SchillerTage International Festival - National theatre of Mannheim, Ker Thiossane Villa for the Arts and Multimedia Dakar (Senegal), Mains d'Oeuvres, Maison des Cultures du Monde, and Festival Villette Numérique in Paris.
